For the first time in SSS history there was no racing on Friday night and we had 12 stages in total. While we only a small group of competitors this round it was good round and enjoyed by all.
We kicked off on Saturday morning early with a GPS run and followed up with 2 short winch stages. Unfortunately Swamp Donkey had to retire after Stage 2 with gear box issues. Big Mav also stood it up and rolled over backwards on the same stage.
Stage 4 was a quick gully following strip bunting on the right which finished up beside Stages 5 – 8. Big Mav put on another show for the crowd when he did a piroutte and rolled over backwards again. We linked Stages 6 & 7 to make Stage 8 as we had finished early before running the night stages. Unfortunately Rusty Nuts Racing retired on Stage 8 when he fried his clutch.
Stage 9 and 10 were our usual side by side stages which also finished a little earlier so we linked them both together for another big Stage 11. Unfortunately Shits & Giggles retired on Stage 9 when they had engine issues.
We finished off the weekend with Stage 12 which was a 5 wall winch loop the loop with all 5 cars on track at same time.
It was great to see so many competitors helping each other fix cars on Saturday night to race one more stage even if they weren’t racing.
It was great to see 2 new teams compete at SSS and one ended up on the podium!
